Mission
The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science education students, therefore, helping the student meet the needs of the health care community.
Purpose
The purpose of the HOSA organization is to develop leadership and technical HOSA skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition, which is an integral part of the Health Science Education instructional program.
| Health Science Students Going to National Competition |
| Health Science students from the Senatobia-Tate County Career and Technical Center recently attended the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) State Leadership Conference. These students represented Tate County very well and those who placed at state competition are now eligible to go to the International HOSA Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida in June. According to Karen Burns, Instructor, “The students could not have done as well as they did without the help of the area community businesses that helped train these students. Many thanks go to Batesville Crime Lab, Cornerstone Rehabilitation, North Oak Regional Medical Center Nursing/Nursing Assistant Area, Northwest Community College RN Program, Senatobia Family Dentistry, and Hernando Urgent Care." |

Five HOSA students from the Senatobia-Tate County CTC placed in the HOSA District Competition held at Delta State University, Friday, February 5, 2016.
Nuriya Bonner- Coldwater High School placed 3rd in Clinical Nursing
Valinsia Mays- Independence High School placed 3rd in Dental Science
Gabrielle Brewer- Strayhorn High School placed 5th in Home Health Aide
Khiara Lee- Independence High School placed 2nd in Medical Assisting
Rebecca Ruth- Independence High School placed 4th in Sports Medicine
These students will now move forward to the HOSA State Leadership Conference March 21-23 in Jackson Mississippi.
